The IRC channel is good and has been my main interaction with ilug ever
since I joined which is a good while ago now. It's often off topic but
generally reasonably Civilized and a thoroughly enjoyable bunch of
folks.

Since I live and work in Mayo getting to Dublin for meetings etc is a
bit harder than 'a beer after work' but over the years I have met quite
a few, both via the occasional Pint of The day and through my
involvement with the ISP Industry.

There was years ago an attempt to start a Sligo lug and I ventured up
to a couple of those meetings but I think it petered out due to lack of
numbers at the time. I can, if interested dig through old email and
find out who else was involved if there's historical interest.

If there are plans for a barcamp, please consider making it easy for
those of us who have to travel to Dublin by not starting too early and
hosting it in the vicinity of somewhere that has parking that does not
cost fortunes. Bonus points if it's organised enough that we can book
time off work & expense the travel with a straight face (like our CEO
has done in years past for PyCon, if you get my drift..)

regards
Brendan
