IPv4 is on the way out. And hosts, that only have IPv4 will still be 
accessible, as there's a gateway. Just if your device doesn't do IPv4, it 
won't be able to connect. Most devices support IPv6 out of the box these 
days.

There is encryption from the node (Router) to the Exit Gateway using fastd, 
l2tp or openvpn. The Wifi connection is not encrypted. As with anything 
internet related, you're responsible for your security.
