Yeah, that’s what I meant. VMs are now possible on FreeNas since version 11 I think (up to v.11.1 currently), or maybe the VM functionality has been improved, I can’t remember. I’ve been testing a few different distros on it - Mint at present - and it’s possible to link to the FreeNas general storage from within the VM, so in that sense it would be great to run Vortexbox and have it point to my main music storage that is copied to FreeNas regularly as another backup. I like the idea that it can function as a music manager/tag editor/album art downloader etc. I might use it as my main music manager/cataloger if it works well as iTunes can be so finicky and such a pain sometimes.
