There a lot of better options. Here are some pointers ... 1. Allegro - Portable library (http://allegro.cc) (C) 2. SDL - (http://libsdl.org) - if you want to write big 3D games 3. Pygame - (http://pygame.org) - Write games faster and cuter in Python If you don't know python then u can start learning it now.
