currently avsap cannot compete with tally - but being opensource, with the 
right amount of support, we could start troubling tally by april 2005 -:)

already cross platform - will run wherever wxpython runs - all flavours of 
linux, mac and M$

nothing postgresql specific except for use of serial type (an autoincrement 
integer type) all the rest is sql standard. The backend has to be ACID 
compliant, so i dont think BerkelyDB will cut it - but a port to something 
like oracle or the like would be trivial

separation is designed into the project - it has already been converted from 
perl/tk to wxpython and is designed with the idea of adding a web interface. 
No reason why interfaces cannot be written in pygtk or pyqt or even tkinter

why dont you join up?

next step is inventory control, payroll, multicurrency and multilanguage 
support in the accounting module
