hey janani...
your problem seems to be related to kerberos code or LDAP
configuration...You must have noted an option during the time of
installation of red hat 9.0...there you can choose between LDAP and
kerberos modes etc...you have just changed that option and
consequently your authentication has been failed....just read about
the shutting down of ip tables from the manual pages and you can solve
it out BUT temporarily..
