Sorry to hear you're having problems. Openoffice.org consistly presents 
identical document layouts for me between different linux systems and MS 
Windogs.

I've even used OOo to prepare an 8 page newsletter, multi-column, with 
photos, banners, etc. across multiple columns, just to prove it could be 
done. Normally one would use proper DTP software for this, of course -- 
but OOo worked.

Maybe your problem is different version behavior?

If your document doesn't need to be writable on all machines, why not 
export it to PDF first, then share it?
