Old PC to Recycle?

Hey folks, Do you have an older model PC that you've got cluttering up the place, one that you've been loathe to chuck out since it's still useable, but is due to be relegated to the system shelf/wiring panel under the stairs to serve out its final days in relative peace? One that might enjoy a final shot at evaluation glory before being given the proclamation of "Server"? My old PC seems to be totally crapped out - floppy is shot, won't boot from any CD I've got, on any CDROM drive I've got and the HD installation (some old version of RedHat) just makes it reboot. This system is headed out the door power supply first. To that end, I'm looking for a replacement "old system" that I can use to experiment with some open source firewall software - m0n0wall/pfsense and smoothwall to be precise.
