All the incoming mail on our system is processed through amavis for virus and spam checking. amavis calls spamassassin to do the actual spam scoring. I had to change one of the spam configuration files today to disable an external URBL test that wasn't working properly (DNS_FROM_SECURITYSAGE was getting improperly triggered for all mail). I reran spamassassin: it linted properly and didn't show that test being triggered when I ran the standard spam/non-spam messages through. But, for some reason, DNS_FROM_SECURITYSAGE is still showing up in all the mail run through amavis. I think it's because (according to amavis documentation at http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/ ) "when configured to call Mail::SpamAssassin (this is optional), it orders SA to pre-load its config files and to precompile the patterns, so performance is at least as good as with spamc/spamd setup. All Perl modules are pre-loaded by a parent process at startup time, so forked children need not re-compile the code, and can hopefully share some memory for compiled code" So HOW do I get amavis to re-pre-load those files? I've tried rcamavis restart rcamavis reload rcamavis stop rcamavis start rcamavis stop rcamavis start rcamavis force-reload and nothing works. (rcamavis is SuSE's shortcut for invoking /etc/init.d/amavis ) And I can't seem to find anything useful in the online amavis documentation.
