I agree with Ian! that this is a vital need.  I don't know where/how to
send someone after I convince them that they should "look into" using
Linux (or BSD , or even any FLOOS on a closed OS)

I try hard not to set myself us as a resource as I do know a few things
but my Knowledge of computing in this day and age has gaps you could FLY
a 747 through without violating FAA clearance rules.

We have come far from the install a thon days when folks juggled big
stacks of diskettes and several long bearded geeks took a couple of
hours to turn an old windows box into a doorstop.  :)
