Maybe there could be an open session starting before the regular meeting for 
people with linux issues,  a few experienced people could be there early to 
answer questions, or help with  install /upgrades.  If the newbie could give 
some advanced notice it would make it easier to have what ever might be 
needed available (CD, cables, adapters...).

This time could also be used by the presenter to get everything setup.
