I'm coming from alt.fantasy, and don't know the culture in alt.magick.

I know a lot of people claim a lot of things about "magic" and such, yet
have a problem showing that they can do something -- anything -- cons-
istently.

Not even something simple and innate to many magical creatures, such as
darkvision.
