To all interested in becoming an official PHP mirror:

There is a tremendous outpouring of support from many in the
community who are generously offering to donate bandwidth and system
resources to mirror php.net. I've spoken with a few of you directly
in the past two or three weeks. As stated on the mirror information
page (http://php.net/mirroring.php), we only accept two official
mirrors per country, with five exceptions for regions with very high
levels of traffic: France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United
Kingdom, and the United States. At this time, we have no intention of
changing this policy.

Instead, for those of you who are interested in hosting an
official mirror of php.net, we are creating a "waiting list" of
contacts. If you would like to become an official mirror, but your
country already has two (or more) mirrors, please reply to this thread
with a quick note of intent and your contact information. In the
event that one or more of the existing mirror maintainers in your
country is unable to continue to provide service, or if we elect to
expand the number of official mirrors in your country, we will contact
those on the waiting list in the order in which the letter of intent
was received.

Again, if you are interested in volunteering to host an official
mirror of php.net in a country that already has two or more mirrors,
please reply to this email with a letter of intent and include your
contact information. You will be able to have your offer removed from
the waiting list at any time just by sending a message to this list.

If anyone has any questions, please address them to this list at
[email protected] and a member of the PHP Network
Infrastructure Team will be happy to reply.

Thank you all, again, for your generosity in support of the PHP project!
