I think a better analogy would be that you cannot argue that a car is better than a wheel just because you need a car. I'm sure PDO meets all its design requirements as a wheel. Give yourselves a pat on the back. It's a damn fine wheel. Some of us, however need something a little more sophisticated - like a car. And we look at PDO and sigh.
