Hi, there is a TODO list in the wiki about the needed things for making peardoc ready for Hannes' new PhD system: http://wiki.pear.php.net/index.php/PEARDocMoveToDocbook5 I'll take care of items 1 and 3 (together with the phpdoc people), Helgi will take care of item 2. I've discussed with Helgi that it could make sense to start from scratch with a "new" manual, that is maintained in the new SVN repository and could be build (and "shown") on maybe docs2.pear.php.net. This new manual could start with Docbook 5 converted versions of the current general chapters, and get the package chapters back one after the other, including a clean-up of outdated pages. This approach wouldn't break the current manual and its translations, and would lead to a very clean new manual. The very much outdated translations (i.e. Dutch, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Spanish) wouldn't be converted, and thus get lost, but IMHO they wouldn't help anybody in their current form. If anybody agrees or disagrees on these ideas, please share your ideas on the list. Regards, Mark -- http://www.markwiesemann.eu
