Yes, Barry the discussion is about the client lib license. PECL does not 
  accept your extension, although its PHP license if the client library 
is  not what PECL likes. What PECL likes means what is *best* for PHP users.

But relax, the game is not over yet.

Yes, question is if LGPL v3 is really, really bad but v2 may do it. 
Again, if I where you I would not shoot that fast. There is no clear 
vote against v3 yet. If you are uncertain what license to pick or if v3 
is less desirable than v2, try to get help from a license expert.
