I never looked into the API of that, if it's similar to libxml2, then it 
shouldn't be that big of a task. You (or whoever does it) could even 
take ext/dom as an example and try to find out, how it works.

It makes it a lot easier, since (AFAIK) libxml2 will be deployed with 
php5 and should be installed by default. Meaning, you can count on 
ext/dom being installed and build something on top of that (like ext/xsl 
and certainly others in the future). So you (or whoever...) can build on 
the work of ext/dom and using its interfaces

big already ;)
