Activity and/or 'ownership' aren't always good clues. For example, 
bindlib_w32 is not a php.net project, isn't PHP licenced and hasn't been 
touched in 5 years, but you still can't build PHP under Windows without it.

If SVN is to be the new php.net repository, surely it should simply mirror 
the existing CVS php.net repository? Or is there some legal issue here?

"All relevant mailinglists" apparently doesn't include anything PHP-GTK 
related.

I'd be interested to know why websites are suddenly more important than 
source code?

Their own decisions as to whether they continue to be hosted in the php.net 
repository following a switch in the host's base technology?

Hannes and Helgi do a fine job, but they do not run the whole of php.net, 
and special-interest mailing lists aren't generally the best place to make 
any kind of major announcement that affects that whole. Or is this just an 
'early days, stuff to experiment with' kind of thing and the rest of the CVS 
modules will be merged across in time?

We most certainly do have a dedicated PHP-GTK web team, but we've never had 
any notification regarding SVN on any of the PHP-GTK mailing lists. I 
literally fell across Hannes' reply to your message when looking for 
something in the PECL archives.

PS I went to look at svn.php.net but apparently you need auth just to view 
it? Hopefully that's temporary :)
