Just to get some clarity on the above two remarks from David and Rasmus, it seems like we're mostly interested in GitHub for GitHub, not for GIT itself. ie: if we didn't go with GitHub we'd probably stick with SVN? I don't think this is necessarily wrong, just curious if everyone is in agreement on that point?
