Hello from the Northwest Ohio PUG

Hello everyone! My name is Chris Tankersley and I've just launched the
Northwest Ohio PHP User Group. Northwest Ohio isn't exactly awash in
anything technical as it is pretty much farmland. With all the talk of how
important user groups are I went and took a look for a local one. Turns out
the closest ones are in either Columbus or Cincinnati, both three hours away
(apparently there is a LUG in Toledo though).

I myself work as the lead web developer and web architect for German Mutual
Insurance where I deal with vendor integration, project management, systems
management, and custom development for our systems. By night I'm a freelance
developer with a blog, a few open source projects, and have started trying
to work with some established FOSS projects like Habari.

I decided the best way to join one would be to just start one. I just
started setting things up but we do have a Google Groups and a Twitter
account. Since I'm thus far the only member the group is completely silent
and I don't have any meetings planned. I hope to get some interested drummed
up as I'm sure that myself and my co-worker can't possibly be the only PHP
programmers in the area.

If anyone has any pointers, I'd be happy to listen. I know I've got a rough
road ahead since I don't really have anyone to join, but hey, I can try
right?
