Hi!

http://nomadphp.com

I wasn't quite ready to announce it yet but my friend David tweeted about
it so I'm moving a little ahead of schedule.

I wanted to announce Nomad PHP to this group FIRST. I apologize that I
didn't do that. The reason I wanted to tell you first is I wanted to
explain the idea behind Nomad PHP and assure you that I am not trying to
compete with any local user group.

Nomad PHP is targeted at 2 primary groups.

1: Those who do not have a local group but want to learn, share, and be a
part of the wide area PHP community. This gives everyone the opportunity to
belong to a User Group. My hope is that as more people join the mailing
list, I can connect groups of local users that don't have a group so that
they can form a local PHP User Group of their own.

2: Those who have a local user group but can't - for whatever reason -
can't attend the meetings on a regular basis. This group I consider
potential members of their regular group but may need a little push to
start attending. As I collect demographics on the people who sign up for
the mailing list, I hope to start encouraging people to attend specific
groups in their area.

Nomad is not a substitute for attending a local User Group. (It says that
on the current screen) Attendance is $10 per meeting with a portion of each
ticket going to the speaker. (Hopefully to fund their attendance a PHP
conference) :)

I'm not asking any of you to help me promote this, I don't want your
existing users to join Nomad and stop supporting their local group.

If you have any questions about Nomad PHP, feel free to post them here or
email me privately.

Thanks for all the great things you do for the PHP community!
