Re: [UG-ADMINS] An idea for PHP UGs

Hi all

Strictly speaking I don't run any UG anymore, but I've been quite involved in PHPBenelux in the past and now active in the Sydney PHP UG.

In SydPHP, we also tend to have a "show and tell" section, exactly for the same reason that speakers aren't always easy to find down under. SydPHP employs a much less strict schedule, sometimes with speakers, but often also with a kind of open mic discussion. I think one talk and then an open mic kind of thing works pretty nice.

We don't have a separate second monthly meetup just for drinks, but I've never seen a SydPHP meetup that didn't end in the bar for a couple of drinks :)
