Ok this clearly is not taking the route I wanted it to take. Stefan: I went out of my way to clarify that I did not point out anyone in this thread was NOT helping out. Since I knew emails tend to be misread, I clarified it. Perhaps not clearly enough? I never intended to bash any other conferences. I read, and re-read my email three times. I did it again after your email and I cannot find how you understood it like that. Take this statement from you: "The fact that commercial conferences have a higher ticket price is simple: The people organizing those conferences actually spend a lot of their working hours, the hours they need to earn their living, organizing the conference." Am I to understand from this that you mean that non-commercial conferences DONT spend a lot of their working hours organizing the conference? No, right? Then why would you? Anyway I know you mean well and I definitely thank you for your words, and I will reflect on them all. But I believe this is not constructive if it left you "very upset and angry". Nothing further from my intentions. Perhaps we will meet each other some day and we'll share a beer/coffee and you'll realize and I am not going out of my way to upset you.
