Hi Mariano, I didn’t think you were out to upset me, honestly, but it came across to me as very negative. If I misread it, then my apologies, for sure. And surely I’m not saying community conferences don’t spend a lot of time on it. The people working on community conferences don’t need to earn their money with it though, something that the people organizing the commercial conferences do. But I get your point. And I think I’ve got an idea. Why don’t we (UG-ADMINS) schedule an online summit on organizing conferences. We’ll discuss ideas on how to improve conferences, on how to prevent schedule conflicts, on how to share speakers between conferences etc. We’ll take a hangout or another online meeting platform, find a time that most people can make it (due to timezones, I’m sure not everyone will be able to make it), and get something good out of this :) Stefan On 4 Jun 2014 at 21:43:32, Mariano Iglesias ([email protected]) wrote: Ok this clearly is not taking the route I wanted it to take. Anyway I know you mean well and I definitely thank you for your words, and I will reflect on them all. But I believe this is not constructive if it left you "very upset and angry". Nothing further from my intentions. Perhaps we will meet each other some day and we'll share a beer/coffee and you'll realize and I am not going out of my way to upset you.
