Nachtrag: GPIO_1 controlls the SIM slot switch. GPIO_1 is also connected to the buzzer, which is not installed by default in the alix6f2. You could put a white LED (or any other color but with a resistor in series) where the buzzer goes - the positive polarity is marked. This helps checking if you actually control the LED. Under Linux you might need to unload the pcspkr module as this drives the same GPIO.
