Inflation, slow economic growth, and high unemployment have a name.... and its called stagflation. It happened in the 70's and can happen again. We definitely have rising price levels (property taxes, insurance rates, and home values are soaring) and slow economic growth. A big problem is how this country "counts" unemployment. Your considered unemployed if you currently do not have a job and cannot find a new one even though you are actively looking. But that leaves a lot out. Want about the programmer who was making decent money at a tech company, lost his job, couldn't find a suitable replacement to due over supply and competition - so now he works at Best Buy selling TV's. The US Govt. considers him a 100% happy and successful employed individual. The real story is he has gone into debt and now lives with his parents. But the labor department says, "Have no fear! Unemployment rate is dropping everyday!" -john On Apr 3, 2004, at 7:20 PM, Marty Landman wrote: > A new round of inflation already when recovery still looks like more > rumor rather than reality.
