As a Senior Perl Developer, you will play a key role in growing Empowered
Benefits- SaaS-employee benefit technology platform.  We are a 17-year-old
software development company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aflac,
Inc - The largest supplemental insurance provide in the world.	Millions of
employees use our technology each day and we are the technology engine
powering the Aflac private marketplace, named Everwell.  

The Senior Perl
Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and
maintenance of an application that will import/export data files of
different formats into and out of a SaaS application. This position is
coding intensive, and will require the ability to coordinate well with a
team as well as show personal initiative, help set best
practices/standards, help lead other team members, and take ownership of
individual components of the development.

Desired skills:
Responsibilities: 

-Design, develop, test, and maintenance of our EDI
programs for our SaaS application
-Respond to and troubleshoot issues
affecting EDI programs
-Monitoring EDI performance and related
infrastructure systems
-Set high-level architectural standards and lead
other team members in implementing those standards
-Set best practices for
the software development process: coding standards, testing, change
management, release planning and deployment Skills and Experience

Skills:

-Perl, Object Oriented Perl desired
-Strong SQL skills
-Version Control
Systems: git and subversion preferred
-Experience writing unit and
regression tests desired
-Detail oriented
-Ability to work independently
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Pluses: Linux experience, 
REST like API's, Web frameworks, NoSQL

Education/Experience:

-BS in
Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline
-PERL 5+
years
-Vast Testing experience: Unit and end -to-end 
-Experience with
Common Modules:  Moose, Mouse and Moo for OO Perl Framework
