Posted: December 26, 2016 Job title: Perl Developers - Ecommerce (Gain Scala) Company name: Opus Resourcing Location: London, United Kingdom Pay rate: £40-60k + Bens + Bonus to 10% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Perl Developers "Gain Scala" & Senior Perl Developers with proven skills in Server Side Perl, SQL/ RDBMS (ideally PostgreSQL or MySQL), Linux OS knowledge and ideally modern frameworks ideally Catalyst, DBI, Moose etc are required to work in dynamic Agile environment on modern Perl stack and Scala for major E-commerce Giant in West London. Desired skills: Required Skills & Experience: .Server Side development in Perl .SQL/RDBMS (ideally PostgreSQL) .Version control systems (we use git) .Able to investigate & trouble-shoot technical issues .Able to rapidly and effectively context-switch .Linux OS familiarity Experience of any of the following will be useful but training will be provided to the right candidate. Knowledge of CPAN modules and frameworks, particularly:Catalyst, DBI, DBIx:Class, Plack, Template Toolkit and Moose Javascript & JS frameworks (we use jQuery) Experience building and testing high-availability applications Agile development methodologies and practises (Scrum, Kanban, TDD) Developing remote services with Perl and working with SOA Implementing continuous delivery (ideally using Jenkins and OpenStack) One or more JVM based languages Java, Scala or Ruby (specifically using the Cucumber test framework) Perl & Linux conventions Message queues (we use ActiveMQ) Perl testing frameworks Refactoring This is an outstanding chance to flex your Perl development skills and gain Scala skills working within a large Perl community who are actively contributing to CPAN and will offer excellent career prospects.
