Posted: February 5, 2020 Job title: Perl Engineer Needed Company name: NetFortris Location: Culver City, CA / Remote Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: some Description: We are looking for a talented engineer with Perl experience to join the NetFortris team. This position's primary focus is programming in Perl. Our primary product consists of a high-level, intuitive, web-based interface to the open-source PBX software Asterisk. We've also built various other desktop applications and APIs that interface with our system and Asterisk. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, diplomatic communication experience, a breadth of industry good practices knowledge, and a desire to contribute. Primary focus will be maintaining and contributing to our OSS/BSS / Customer management systems and software integrations with our ordering and provisioning software. Responsibilities * Developing, testing, and maintaining new and existing systems written in Perl within a Linux environment. * Build software frameworks that are maintainable, flexible and scaleable. * Develop and / or contribute to the API and Load testing processes. * Demonstrate experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving performance related issues on a senior level. * Work with QA to identify the scope of test cases subject to automation. Desired skills: * 5+ years of strong coding/scripting experience in Perl, Bash, Python. * 8+ years proven working experience in software development role. * Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (AJAX, JSON, jQuery, etc.) * Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. * Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces. * Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working closely within small teams. * Familiarity with common open source technologies and tools. * Ability to set goals, and achieve scheduled deadlines. * Self-motivated / self-starter. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent industry experience Strong plus if you have experience using: * Moose * DBIX::Class * CGI::Application * Redhat / CentOS * Apache * Jenkins * Golang * Javascript / React / JQuery / etc. * Template::Toolkit * Java / Tomcat * NetSuite Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/21695#contact
