Position Summary: This person will be a team member in the Technical Implementations department data acquisition group working with our clients and internal staff to design and develop production data import logic and processes. The Perl Software Engineer in this role is responsible for analysis, design, programming and implementing logic to import client claim and claim-related data into the IMaCS system. Responsibilities: Interface directly with IMaCS Technical Implementation Analyst team, to a lesser extent, client patient financial systems (PFS) and client IS representatives with regard to all aspects of data acquisition for new facility implementations Develop, test, and implement data import scripts and programs In some cases, development is based on the specifications drawn up by a Technical Implementation Analyst, but in other cases, you may develop the specifications Support and maintenance of existing data import scripts and programs Work with IMaCS Production Control team to set up new facilities in the production environment Participate in weekly staff meetings and status reporting Actively contribute to the design and implementation of internal process improvements Required skills: Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer science, or a related degree. Equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirement 2+ years of Perl programming experience 3+ years experience working with data-intensive applications Data architecture and design skills, including entity-relationship modeling Experience with SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer or similar tools Solid understanding of production operations Solid communications skills, both oral and written High numeric aptitude with excellent analytical skills Ability and willingness to take on various assignments in a fast paced dynamic environment Desired skills: Health care experience preferred, but not required Experience interfacing directly with customers/users preferred Experience working with the implementation and management of large IT systems preferred URL for more information: http://www.imacs.com/careers Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/4426#contact
