Description:
NOTE: We do not pay/provide relocation. Out of town candidates who seem
promising will have a phone interview first; those who pass the phone
interview must have an in-person interview in Brooklyn.
ABSOLUTELY NO visa sponsorship or transfers: if you don't have the right to
work in the US, we cannot employ you and we won't get you that privilege. 

Duties:

Maintain, document, and create new UNIX Perl applications and modules in
support of our Solaris systems administration and document imaging
infrastructure and applications.

This is a 16-month contract employment position on-site in downtown
Brooklyn with the possibility of renewal for subsequent 16-month terms. No
remote work is	permitted. Start-time for each day is negotiable and
flexible within the core business hours of the agency.


Required skills:
Senior programmer with BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Computer
Engineering and 8-10 years of solid software development in a UNIX
environment. Four years of solid full-time Perl work experience with strong
Perl experience including CGI and other web application techniques.

Database interfaces using SQL and DBI and DBD::Oracle or DBD::Postgresql or
DBD::MySQL
mod_perl/mod_perl2

The ability to design/write/understand both procedural and object-oriented
Perl, as appropriate, is required. 

The successful candidate must also have a thorough command of English both
written and spoken (whether that be as your first or nth language) with
demonstrated technical writing skills. 

Desired skills:
Class::DBI or Alzabo

Any experience creating Solaris packages for software distribution a plus.
