Programmer Analyst

Health Market Science is a young, rapidly-expanding company located in King
of Prussia, PA.  HMS is the leading provider of scientifically-engineered
targeting, data integration, and advanced analytics solutions for the
healthcare industry.

Position:
The HMS Programmer Analyst supports the company’s goal of collecting,
integrating and presenting industry standard data about healthcare
professionals from a wide array of sources.  The Programmer Analyst
prepares internal datasets and contracted deliverables via the usage of
internal tools, data manipulation software and custom-coded solutions. 

Reports to: Technical Lead, Client Delivery

Responsibilities:
•	The Programmer Analyst is responsible for assembling data projects
for clients by utilizing HMS’s internal toolsets and building custom
software. 
•	Partners with Health Market Science Customer Care Manager to
facilitate client requirements sessions.
•	Effective communication with the HMS Sales team, customer care
manager and other internal resources to ensure requirements are understood
and a work-plan executed.   
•	Provides input regarding level of effort and timeline requirements
to assist with project scheduling.  Provides periodic status updates
throughout the project lifecycle, including risk escalation and problem
resolution management.
•	Function in a production environment where the self-management of
deadlines and project requirements is necessary.
•	Manage communication to and from internal or external contacts,
including product and development staff, about project status.
•	Work with Customer Care Manager to maintain project schedule,
define scope and estimate effort associated with multiple projects to
assist with project management and prioritization.
•	Complete quality assurance tasks on delivery files, coordinating
with internal resources for support as needed.
•	Manage and effectively communicate risks associated with the
projects to internal stakeholders and take appropriate measures to address
them.
•	Active participation with internal improvement team initiatives.
•	Follow up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure
client satisfaction
•	Any other tasks assigned by the company from time to time

•	Strong general technical ability, including proficiency in:
o	Linux and/or Unix style OS

o	MS Access
o	SQL programming; Oracle preferred 
•	Familiarity with pharmaceutical marketing information and/or
healthcare claims data
•	Ability to work under tight deadlines
