Dada USA, Inc. is currently looking for a Perl/Php Engineer to work in its
NYC-based headquarters. Dada USA, Inc. is a worldwide leader in the
direct-to-consumer mobile media market with operations throughout Europe,
North America, and China. The company began its North American operations
in 2005 and has rapidly become one of the market’s leading players. Its
N.A. headquarters is located in New York City. 


Position Summary:


This developer will be working on Dada applications. 
This person will develop and support in-house applications that are
mod_perl and Php based sitting on top of Linux servers with a Mysql/Oracle
database back-end. 

Responsibilities:
Ability to determine unique and creative solutions to problems within a
rapid development environment
Develop and maintain software and packages to support applications. 
Analyze and fix data issues and write code when necessary to fix problems.
Participate in the design of new applications. 
Develop web applications using Perl and Php.
Develop Perl modules to support internal processes and applications.
Maintain code of existing applications.
Constructively challenge and improve existing department-wide processes. 
Write internal documentation describing software developed.

Required skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field
* 2+ years solid development experience with object-oriented Perl,
mod_perl, Php, XML and HTML in a dynamic, fast-paced application
development environment
* 2+ years of SQL experience (Oracle or Mysql environment is ideal)
* Understanding of various software development lifecycle methodologies,
configuration management (CVS) and object-oriented software development
methodologies
* Detailed knowledge of web application architecture and infrastructure
* Experience with Linux 
* Ability to work well independently and within a team, especially
cross-functional teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills:
* Experience with Ajax
* Database development and design experience with SQL and Oracle
* Experience in debugging and documenting code
