Posted: December 4, 2006 Job title: Database Administrator (DBA)- Oracle MySQL Perl Company name: Tellme Networks Location: United States, CA, Mountain View Travel: 0% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Length of employment: Full-time permanent Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Senior Database Administrator Mountain View, California, United States Job Type: Full-Time Responsibilities: * Maintain Oracle databases on Solaris and MySQL databases on Solaris X86. * Perform database upgrade on both Oracle and MySQL. * Participate in 24/7 on-call support. * Perform database monitoring and troubleshooting. * Perform database, application, and SQL tuning. * Perform database backup and recovery. * Research, evaluate, and deploy Oracle new features. * Document database process and procedures. * Work with developers to resolve database issues. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements: * 8+ years experience in a 24/7 database environment as full-time DBA. * Experience with managing TB database. * Experience with managing OLTP and data warehousing database. * Knowledge of Oracle database internals. * Extensive coding experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and Perl scripting. * Implementation Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle enterprise manager. * Experience administering MySQL in a production environment. * Proven database tuning and troubleshooting experience. * Experience with managing snapshots and partition tables. * Ability to manage multiple tasks independently. * Ability to research and test database features. * Oracle8i and Oracle9i certified is a plus. * Other pluses/ desired skills include experience with 10G, Dataguard, RAC and RMAN URL for more information: http://www.tellme.com/ Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/5054#contact
