Description:
We are in search of a talented Sr. Software Engineer interested in
developing truly novel web applications in the areas of behavioral search
and behavioral content optimization. These technologies enable Claria to
determine the correct advertisement or content to serve out of a potential
choice of thousands in a manner of milliseconds. The optimization
technologies employed are world class and will be deployed world-wide. This
position reports to the VP of the data analytics team.
 
The Principal Perl Engineer/Developer will be responsible for: 
•	Building and implementing the architecture and design for new
content optimization engines 
•	Writing commercial quality code 
•	Drafting clear, concise functional specs for QA 
•	Managing rapid deployment cycles 


Required skills:
•	10+ years of hands-on server programming of large scale, commercial
quality hosted web applications. 
•	Thorough command of standard web technologies including: Perl,
mod_perl, APACHE, XML, and MySQL. 
•	10+ years experience developing high-volume Perl and Apache
applications under Unix or Linux. 
•	Ability to understand complex mathematical algorithms and translate
them into code. 
•	Strong understanding of development and deployment best practices
for hosted applications. 
•	Ability to think out of the box and offer creative solutions to
issues/problems. 
•	Excellent written and verbal English communication skills 


Desired skills:
•	Working knowledge of any one of: Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, 
•	Basic SQL (MSSQL and Oracle) skills 
•	BS in CS or equivalent knowledge of CS fundamentals 
•	Working knowledge of FTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
•	Experience with agile development methods a big plus 
•	Experience with Debian Linux
