As a Senior Developer at Sophos you will provide technical leadership. You
will have direct responsibility for product features or key technology as
well participate in development of systems; including requirements
analysis, concept development, design, implementation, and system
documentation.

Role

•Design and develop code for complex and critical subsystems with a high
degree of reliability and robustness.
•Assure high product quality through test driven development (tdd) and to
Sophos xP practices.
•Assist with the recruitment process
•Provide technical direction and consultation to other software engineers.
•Develop balanced solutions to problems that impact the design success of
product development efforts.
•Estimate time and resource allocation for product requirements (xP
stories) and related to department projects.

Experience and Skills


Essential 

•7-10 yrs minimum experience developing software
•2 yrs+ experience Object Oriented Programming
•2 yrs+ experience C/C++
•2 yrs+ experience Perl
•1 yr+ experience HTML/DHTML
•1 yr+ experience AJAX

Desirable

•1 yr+ experience PHP
•1 yr+ experience relational database 
•1 yr+ experience XSLT/XML
•1 yr+ experience in development of SPAM or Virus protection software

Asset

•Bachelors of Science in Computer Software or equivalent
