Other responsibilities include application maintenance and use of configuration management tools AUTHORITY: Code changes related to bug fixes or application maintenance managed through configuration management system. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Development and coding of web application projects On time delivery of web application projects that meet required technical specifications Actively provide feedback and support to application/project technical specification process Interface with producers, client software engineers and QA during implementation and deployment process. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Web application maintenance and tuning Search engine maintenance and tuning Provide backup support for updating content on live service Required skills: KNOWLEDGE OF: Web application programming languages (primarily Perl, SQL, secondarily HTML and JavaScript), database structures and queries/transactions/stored procedures, low level development tools/compilers, debugging methodologies. Knowledge of variety of web application platforms (primarily Apache w/mod_perl) and OS environments (primarily *nix preferably Linux). MINIMUM EDUCATION: BS Computer Science or equivalent professional experience. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF HANDS-ON CODING AND DEVELOPMENT OF DEPLOYED WEB APPLICATIONS.
