Posted: January 29, 2007 Job title: Quality Assurance Tester Company name: Computershare Trust Company Location: Canada, Ontario, Richmond Hill Travel: 0-25% Terms of employment: Salaried employee Hours: Full time Onsite: yes Description: Job title: Quality Assurance Tester Department: Commercial Development Location: Richmond Hill DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Commercial Software Leader, the incumbent will be details oriented and have a strong client focus in order to guide clients through the integration and user acceptance testing phases of projects. Time-management, problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and deliver successful outcomes are integral to this role. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze business requirements and develop test strategy Present test plans to clients Work with the clients QA department to co-ordinate end-to-end testing Design and implement test systems to ensure product quality and conformance Provide support to development team by tracking, verifying and resolving defects Specify and implement verification environment and support the development team by running test cases within the environment Debug complex problems to characterize potential root cause Bench mark testing with focus on performance Manage clients through the entire UAT phase of the project Other duties as they arise Required skills: KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED Degree or diploma in IT or related discipline (ideally incorporating Perl, VB, SQL, MS .NET technologies). Must have excellent English Business communication skills Must have excellent presentation skills Thorough understanding of black box, white box, and end-to-end solution testing EXPERIENCE 3 5 years of quality assurance testing experience in a commercial environment Some knowledge of programming languages, preferably: Perl, SQL, and VB6 Initiative and innovation skills with passion for process improvement Strong analytical and problem solving abilities Ability to present concepts in business environments Excellent written and verbal English skills Desired skills: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, but also in a team environment Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm and focused Ability to develop positive, working relationships Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks and exhibit strong time management skills to achieve successful outcomes with attention to detail Commitment to meeting deadlines A positive, enthusiastic attitude, self-motivation and strong work ethic Contact information at: http://jobs.perl.org/job/5266#contact
