perljvm snapshots et al. (was Re: Philosophical Issues of JPL & perljvm/Jasmin)

Once my TPC 4.0 paper is done (*sigh*, due tommorrow by 23:59---any TPC 4.0
editors on this list want to grant me a deadline extension? :), and I have
slept off the all-nighter I am about to pull to get said TPC 4.0 paper done,
I will get daily snapshots working.

BTW, another barrier for folks will be the prerequisites for using perljvm:

   - A Perl newer than 5.5.64 (this problem will be ameliorated when 5.6
     comes out for final release)
   - A working java implementation, including JDK and a Java->JVM compiler
   - Jasmin

Jasmin is annoying to install.  Folks using frozen-potato-Debian won't have
much trouble with the rest of the stuff (I have instructions in the README
now), but other systems, who knows?

Is there anyone who would like to volunteer to write a tutorial on how to
get perljvm's pre-requisites working on their system?  If we get enough of
these, we can have a substantial resource in a doc/ directory to explain
things.
