If you make a snapshot, I promise I'll try to install it on my RedHat 6.1
system before I try it on my "frozen potato" system (mmm... frozen
potato... fond memories of working in fast food during those foggy years
between high school and university :-)

If I can get it up and running on the RedHat system (I'll probably put the
cutting-edge Perl into /opt), I'll share whatever insights I gain from the
experience. After that, I'll try it on Solaris (when I get my SPARC back
up and running), and share any insights gained there. Eventually, we can
turn these insights into something resembling a tutorial...
