You are probably talking about File::Spec->cat{dir, file}(), which in fact have changed on Mac OS (a month or so ago). They now return relative paths by default, like on all other OSs. If you have MacPerl 5.6.1b1, you should have the new File::Spec::Mac. Take a look at the docs. (And this in fact proves, that we are not only chatting, but get things ready, sometimes ;-).
