when i get back to playing with it, I was working on using markov chains
to manipulate midi files.  Sometimes got some interesting results,
sometimes not.  Started using midi-perl because the guy who reminded me of
the idea (I've been interested in this for a while) was using
abc2midi/midi2abc and then markoving the abc files.  I decided that lost
too much data and wanted to play with the midi directly.
