VxWorks, LynxOS, OSE, eCOS, Chorus, ...

Is there anybody out there working with platforms requiring
cross-compilation, like the many embedded/realtime operating systems?

I would like to get the recently added cross-compilation support of
the Perl build process to be much more robust, so far it has been
tested in only one (1) platform, a Linux cross-compiling to another
Linux...  To get it to be more robust, much more testing is needed.
(The current scheme requires the host system to run a UNIXish
environment, since we still use Configure, and it does not get
further than building miniperl, but that's a start.)

("Unfortunately" one of the most popular embedded platforms, QNX,
 Neutrino seems to have a good enough development platform so that
 the latest development releases of Perl seem to build and test just
 fine without any extra acrobatics...)
