That's why we have printed course materials. Our course materials
refer to the Camel and the perldoc heaps (we've extended Docbook to have
a special kind of "Readme" note, and also an "Advanced" one), but the
notes are the gentle tutorial that guides the student through what they
need to know (and only what they need to know), while the camel/perldoc
are the deeper references when necessary.
We figured the Camel was a safe book to have as the textbook on this
basis, because if you need to have just one Perl book on your desk,
that's the one it should be.
