well for what you did yeah i would have done that as well its better than her hitting you i got harsh punishment as a child i got locked in my room the same way you did only for a week and for something i actually didnt do which they feel bad now but at the time thought it was the right thing to do. i also had to move a giant dirt pile from one said of the yard to the other in mid summer....sucked sooo bad but i learned my lesson. my dad was rather good at that stuff.... so no i dont see any wrong here and how the crap could you say such a thing to your mom? i wouldnt ever do that when i was a child...man kids now days...look i understand right now you find this to be stupid and you are feeling some hate but trust me one day you will look back when you have your own kids and your doing the same to them and say huh.... i actually get it...

Under age drinking is a serious offense in some places. consider yourslef lucky that gotlocked in you room.
OH, I know. .the lure of getting drunk with your friends seems nice, until you encounter the vomit, t having no control and getting peed on and not remembering it...this is not fun believe me.
Do you know about alcohol poisoning? You can die from that. You knew what the punishment would be but decided to drink anyway, and if you had not done that, you wouldn't have been locked in your room.
I used to be your age. I hated i when my parents would punish me for disobeying them, butnow that I'm older, I understand why that happened. I had parents who looked out for my well-being, they loved and cared for me anddidn't want any harm to come my way. YOUr Mother is the same way. And she wants you to learn to be responsible. Try obeying her set of rules, and see what happens. Don't drink, Don't sneak out and then pout and do the poor me scene when you knew what the punishment would be for being caught. You could have ended up in a drunk tank with a stranger who could have raped you. That would be horrible. Try obeying the rules set out by your parent(s). You will , in time thank her for caring about your well-being. She wants you to live. not die making a fool of yourself.

You betrayed her trust and swore at her ... that sounds like decent punishment to me. You could have been arrested after sneaking out, and I assure you, spending the day in your room is much better than spending the day in a jail cell.

That wasn't punishment enough. My daughter 4 got loud on her substitute teacher in she was whooped and grounded for 5 days. No tv, toys, tablet or good food. Just plain food.

in the starting up i'm purely 17 and not a make sure, yet i guard my 10 twelve months previous brother and 14 twelve months previous sister a good number of the time as our mom has to paintings a lot. for my section your mom did have the right to punish you the way she did. i don't think of i'd have lengthy gone so some distance as locking you on your room yet i'd absolutely have made you spend the day on your room and not allowed you to have your telephone or watch television or go on the computing device. i don't think of your punishment would were so undesirable in case you've been being punished for only sneaking out notwithstanding the actual shown reality that you swore at your mom made the punishment worse. also, you're complaining that you're too previous to be locked on your room as a punishment, honestly you're too previous to be sneaking out. you're 14 no longer 8, i'm particular in case you had only requested your mom in case you need to go out for slightly and informed her the position you've been going she would have allowed you to head. the purely reason i'm able to work out on your mom punishing you for sneaking out is that she had no theory the position you had lengthy gone or how lengthy you've been lengthy gone for and no theory once you'd be back. She become only hectic about you. you won't be able to precisely whinge both as she wasn't doing some thing which will be risky to you, you stated your self she assist you to visit the lavatory and also you had to devour on your room. i imagine she had the right, as your mom, to punish you the way she did. contained in the destiny only ask until eventually now you go out, and if you're not to any extent further polite sufficient to ask permission a minimum of tell her that you're going out and once you anticipate to be back. you're 14 and so deserve some freedom, yet collectively you need to earn that freedom. also, i don't think of your sister must have in contact herself because it is not some thing to do including her extremely.

sad to say that is nothing close to cruel punishment. when i wasnt a mother myself, i got whooped with extinsion cords, tree branches, braided belts, paddles, wire hangers, all kind of things. cruel is getting whooped for two hours non stop. i wish mymomma would have just locked me in my room. we (my family) never got grounded but when we messed up our butts were turned purple. black, and blue. so which would u rather have?

Stop being a jerk to your mom and you won't have this problem. She fed you and allowed you to use the toilet. There was no abuse or neglect. So, she was within her rights as a parent. Hopefully you learned your lesson.

How are you posting this then? Lol. But anyway, as long as she gives you food, water, and lets you go to the bathroom, you should be fine. Sneaking out for 4 hours, this might seem harsh but I understand your mom's frustration.

Firstly I'm only 17 and not a parent, but I look after my 10 year old brother and 14 year old sister a lot of the time as our Mom has to work so much.
In my opinion your mom did have the right to punish you the way she did. I don't think I would have gone as far as locking you in your room but I would definitely have made you spend the day in your room and not allowed you to have your phone or watch TV or go on the computer.
I don't think your punishment would have been so bad if you were being punished for just sneaking out but the fact that you swore at your mom made the punishment worse. Also, you are complaining that you are too old to be locked in your room as a punishment, surely you are too old to be sneaking out. You are 14 not 8, I'm sure if you had just asked your mom if you could go out for a bit and told her where you were going she would have allowed you to go.
The only reason I can see for your mom punishing you for sneaking out is that she had no idea where you had gone or how long you had been gone for and no idea when you would be back. She was simply worried about you.
You can't exactly complain either as she wasn't doing anything that could be harmful to you, you said yourself she let you go to the bathroom and you had to eat in your room.
I think she had the right, as your mom, to punish you the way she did. In the future just ask before you go out, and if you aren't polite enough to ask permission at least tell her that you are going out and when you expect to be back. You are 14 and so deserve some freedom, but at the same time you have to earn that freedom.
Also, I don't think your sister should have involved herself as it is nothing to do with her really.

Wow you are getting locked up all the time! Maybe you get horny everytime you hear the lock click in the door and do stuff on purpose to get locked up?
How about throwing a brick through a shop window and waiting there for the cops to come so you can be locked up 24/7? I bet you would really love that!

Yes it was fair. You sneaked out of the house when you know you weren't supposed to and you cussed at your mom. You are lucky you got off so easy. I would have been literally beaten black and blue and possibly have been forced to throw all my stuff in a bonfire again, like when I was 9 and got a freaking B in math and was forced to throw all my toys into a fire that my stepdad made out in the yard.

Its not right to be locked in a room because of health and safety issues there could have been a fire and you would of had no way to escape. Being grounded and not being allowed to use phone/computer/Tv would have been a fairer punishment.

I know it doesn't seem fair to you now and you feel like you are losing your freedom etc. However, being a mother myself I can understand the logic behind your moms actions. It is only out of pure love and worry for our children that we will use such extreme measures particularly if it means protecting our children from doing things that could cause serious harm.
If you want to regain your freedom you really need to knuckle down and get on with your school work. Show your mom that you love, respect and appreciate her decisions no matter how unfair it is at the time but most of all stop sneaking out and getting drunk. I am not saying that you can't be an individual and be yourself what I am saying is that there are better ways to achieve this rather than telling your mom to f--- off and rebelling. This wont achieve anything except cause your mom and yourself a lot of emotional pain.
Show your mom that you can be a responsible and respectable teenager and maybe when you and your mom have discussed any issues you have regarding school and your relationship with your mom only then will your relationship with your mom begin to heal and repair itself. This is going to be a long and slow journey but just remember that you are always loved regardless of your actions.
Good luck and take care of yourself

being grounded means NOT being allowed to go out, as you disobeyed your mum and sneaked out , she has every right to lock you in your bedroom, of course you don't like it its a PUNISHMENT.
your behaviour is totally UNACCEPTABLE good on your mum for punishing you corrctly

All is fair in love and war, right?
Your mum loves you, wants to protect you. This is for your own safety, it's not just a punishment.
You know exactly what you did wrong anyway, you just wrote it above. Also, if you'r e not allowed your phone,tv and 'etc' how did you even writing this locked in your room?
It's not rocket science, behave yourself + think about what you've done wrong+ don't do it again.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

This is absolutely fair. Fair does not mean getting what you want, fair means getting what is necessary. Obviously, if you can't keep yourself in the house when you are grounded, you need to be locked in your room. Try improving your behavior so that you don't get grounded next time.

How about stop trying to revolt & stay in the house when your suppose to!? Your mom loves you & if she has to resort to locking you in the room, you know shes hurt & doesn't wannna send her child away! So act your age & focus on school.
Source(s): im 16 & i was same as you.the outcome was i got pregnant, I had a daughter & if she ever did this, i'd cry & wouldn't know what to do with her.

a question for teenage mums, whats a fair punishment for what i have done ?
whenever my mum trys to ground me i always sneak out, now my mum has put a lock on my bedroom door that can only be locked or unlocked with a key.
yesterday my mum got a letter from my school about my bad behaviour i lost my temper and told my mum to f--- off, my mum said she has had enough of my attitude and said i will be spending the whole weekend locked in my bedroom as punishment, i can"t stand being locked in so i have said i am sorry to my mum so i can escape lockdown, but she wont budge and said i will be locked up and thats that.
so all i am trying to do is see if i can get my mum to go easy on my lockdown punishment,
perhaps cut it done to just 1 day or even half a day, what are your opinions kind mums only please ?

You have given your mom no choice but to take more serious actions for your behavior. If you don't want to get locked down, then you need to change your attitude and your actions. You are in control of your behaviors and actions, it is your mom's responsibility to make sure you are protected but you are making it impossible for her to trust you. Change your ways before it is too late for you and you wind up at a home for troubled teens. You are very lucky to have a mom who cares enough about you to stick to her guns and keep her word about your punishment. Try to show a little more respect for her and your school and you won't have to worry about being punished again. Being rebellious can only result in you getting into more trouble and I can promise you, it won't be worth it in the long run.

Honestly you've blown your chances your mom has tried to just ground you and you choose to sneak out...so she has had to resort to locking you in, my advice is to face the punishment (that is a consequence to your actions) then work on your behavior don't tell your mom to f off that is crushing to a parent all they want (truly) is the best for their children and by your mom sticking by her punishment is her doing her best by you (even though is sucks at the time) So....treat your mom like the wonderful loving mom she is and remember that it is more stressful for her when you act up than you think! Don't do something that you'll look back on a regret!

look, we have to be tough on teens cos we know what the worlds like and you're just finding out.
My daughter snuck out one night and went off. She came back and I wouldn't have known but this man came to my door and said that he had seen her sneaking around and she was so lucky cos he thought at first she was an intruder and he was going to whack her but then he realised who it was. So, not safe!!!
Do as your mom says. Accept punishment, and learn from it!!! Why are you behaving so bad? Ask if you can see the school psychologist and get your life sorted before something really bad happens.
