When I read your initial post, I assumed that you had your BofA CD in a
Quicken savings account. Only investment accounts have the "Tracking
Method" option, so I didn't even think of about Tracking Method. I
didn't think BofA offered any investment accounts - BofA owns Merrill
Lynch so I thought Merrill Lynch would be the appropriate financial
institution.

[Quicken investment accounts using the Simple tracking method don't have
"registers" (actually known as "Transaction Lists" for investment
accounts). "Simple" investment accounts just track the account balance.]

[Investment accounts don't have the register filters that are available
in non-investment accounts, so that's why you had trouble there.]

If I recall correctly, when reactivating a Quicken account, Quicken will
sometimes adjust the account balance (though I thought that only
occurred for non-investment accounts). If the downloaded account balance
differs from the Quicken account balance, that might trigger such an
adjustment.

[I did a test; switching an online-enabled investment account to the
Simple method, then back to the Complete method. I ended up with exactly
what I started with - and there was never any adjustment transaction in
the account.]

I'm not sure what to make of " ... 'Quicken' appeared as an FI so I
chose it ....". But if you told Quicken to use a different financial
institution for the account when you reactivated, that too might have
contributed to the unusual results.

In any event, glad seem to be back to near-normal.
