Did you try turning on the debugging tools? If you do not have the right string data for the command line you will not get the ripped file to convert, but will get the WAV file. Also there are limitation for where files can be written. I don’t know all the issues and they are probably not related to EAC, but to the OS. If you keep the command line simple and write to a simple, known folder you should be able to get FLAC files and then can work to get additional details you might desire. Also make sure you have FLAC installed correctly in EAC and on the computer.
I generally rip a CD to FLAC and OGG and I have different configurations for doing both together, each separately and other compressions.

Subject: Re: [EAC] EAC converting to WAV only but not FLAC
Hi Mike,
Sad to report that after trying out everything you suggested, giving full access to FLAC command, EAC and related folders and having Admin access, still found not get EAC to rip to FLAC.
Thanks for the effort.

You should be able to see/need to find out what the working directory is for the FLAC command.
Select that directory and and right-click for Properties, click the Sharing tab, and make sure your Username shows full access.
I'm no expert, and I think it takes Administrator access, but it worked for me.
Good luck!

Thanks Mike, for your response.
Not sure what you mean by "permission for that User for that Directory'" but will poke around Windows to see if I can find something that matches your fix.

Hi,
I remember that something exactly like this happened to me after an upgrade maybe last year.
Everything in EAC worked fine EXCEPT that the FLAC command line would fail, so I got only wav files.
I found that I no longer had Write Permission in that directory after the upgrade!
The fix was to add Windows permission for that User for that Directory, to allow the FLAC command to complete successfully.
I hope this makes sense and might help!

I am a newbie at this and would like to know if anyone can help me with this.
I have tried the setting up and configuration but nothing seem to work.
I was able to get FLAC before, but since replacing my PC and installing latest EAC version 1.5, unable to rip to flac. I am using Windows 10. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
