hey Mitchel

I have a friend who does very well with a Digi oo2/apogee rosetta 200/
G5 Dual 2.0 setup. He gets great sounds out of it but lives with a
lot of latency. I was thinking of going that way as well. what
changed it for me was this. If you own PT cards already the trade in
is pretty generous, usually about what a used PCIe HD card will get
on ebay. If you go with my friends setup second hand and purchase
the MP or PP toolkit everything will come out to about $3k. I
traded in my mix core for a HD1 and bought a 192 second hand, and a
midi i/o as well. Total for that was just under $6k. HD1 with a
stout computer is the way to go I think. It is twice as much to get
into but $3k is not an absurd amount more to invest in your principle
tool. good luck!
