The Firewire Solo is a piece of crap. It's compatible and ought to work, but I wouldn't be surprised if yours just happens to be busted. It's a blessing in disguise if it is. Bad sound, bad drivers, low quality build. Vastly better quality interfaces are made by RME, Apogee and Metric Halo. Even cheaper ones from Presonus and MOTU would blow away most stuff by m-Audio.
