While this is true, there is a workaround.  Xmms works pretty well with Xvfb
from the XFree86 project.  It's a frame buffer that requires no "actual"
display or display hardware.

Given that you won't be using Xmms to actually control Netjuke, this should
work well.  It's available in a Deb package, a RPM from Redhat, and of
course source from Xfree86.org.
